MURDERDOLLS: Photos From The Studio Posted Online
March 26, 2010SLIPKNOT drummer Joey Jordison and vocalist Wednesday 13 have entered a studio in Hollywood Hills, California with producer Chris "Zeuss" Harris (HATEBREED, SHADOWS FALL, 3 INCHES OF BLOOD) to begin recording the long-awaited sophomore album from their horror-punk side-project MURDERDOLLS entitled "Women And Children Last". "We've just completed all the drum tracks but one, and then it's off to guitar and bass," the band writes on its MySpace blog.
The group adds, "This album is gonna make your faces cave in, we promise. You will die, like actually stop living after you hear this... hahahaha.
"We are starting to get cabin fever up here because we have been tracking day and night and never leaving.
"We can't wait 'till you sick fuckers out there can hear it.
"We're coming for your daughter, Chuck!!!"
Check out pictures from the studio at this location. A couple of the photos can be viewed below.
Although MURDERDOLLS went on hiatus in January 2004, Joey told Kerrang! magazine that he and Wednesday have been talking about reuniting since 2006. "We were bored with everything out there, and thought we had something to piss people off and shake things up," he said. "Everything is such a product or a fucking formula these days... Fuck formula! Fuck the norm!"
When asked who else is in the band apart from himself and Wednesday 13, Jordison replied, "Much like the way [Norwegian black metal bands] DARKTHRONE or SATYRICON make records, Wednesday and I are doing the record ourselves with a couple of very special guests."
Formed in 2002, MURDERDOLLS released one album in the form of "Beyond the Valley of the Murderdolls", which came out via Roadrunner Records. The band had limited initial success in the United States, though its album and singles charted well in the United Kingdom and around the same time the group picked up a strong following in Japan.
MURDERDOLLS' sound is made up of their shared influences, which include punk rock and 1970s hard rock acts such as KISS and ALICE COOPER. The band also shares an interest in horror movies, from which they take images and references.
